THE BUTTERFLY HOUSE IS CURRENTLY DEACTIVATED AND THEREFORE NOT ACCESSIBLE.
Only the Museum of Zoology can be visited.
Access rules
- Visitors are requested to arrive with the minimum of personal accessories, avoiding luggage, as well as bulky backpacks and bags.
- The visit can always be carried out along the route indicated by the signs and/or by the museum staff.

Everyone must be able to find themselves among the others without being disturbed and thus find themselves in a collective situation that offers full space for individual experience. So please:
Don't smoke, don't speak loudly, don't run, don't throw things on the ground, don't consume food, don't use the flash if you take a photograph, keep the phones silent, keep your distance, always, as a practice of coexistence between strangers, are all useful rules not only for the safety of the museum, but also make the visit more enjoyable for everyone.
- It is forbidden to touch display cases, objects, animals and display surfaces.
- It is forbidden to climb or sit on the exhibition platforms.
The Museum of Zoology follows the following timetable:
Opening hours and days:
MONDAY, TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY, FRIDAY 9:00-13:00 (last admission at 12:40).
TUESDAY and THURSDAY AFTERNOON also 3:00-5:00 PM (last admission at 4:40 pm).
SATURDAY, SUNDAY and HOLIDAYS closed.
FREE ENTRANCE
Reservation is required for organized groups or schools.
The Museum of Zoology is located in Via Lago di Nicito No. 38b, inside the Cittadella degli Studi, the same building that houses the Department of Biological, Geological and Environmental Sciences of the University of Catania.
